Blackfoot Stories

Carl.png

Carl Brave Rock has graciously provided Building Brains Together with some Blackfoot Stories. He greatly enjoys telling stories to people of all ages and would like his listeners to know that every storyteller has their own way of telling stories. It is an art to tell good stories effectively so people can enjoy them, remember them, and share them with others. Carl will tell the same story differently depending on the age of the group he is speaking to.

The stories Carl has provided Building Brains Together are not “written in stone” but rather a guide to help remember the stories that in fact might be much longer than what was shared.  Some of the stories may have more emotional tone and activity added depending on the age of the group Carl shares the story with.

Native Hope talks about how stories have a great imaginative power that engages the brain and in turn enhances an engagement with thought and memory for stories. “Stories can also be healing when people are engaged and focused in a positive way and this brain’s love for storytelling can be the key to healing and happiness” [https//www.nativehope.org].

Building Brains Together would like to explore storytelling and the benefits of how stories and storytelling enhance brain function.
